Biomedical Technical Support

We comprise of a team of Ceasa registered and certified technicians, all with different expertise, covering a broad spectrum of medical disciplines i.e. from theatre, laboratory and renal dialysis, to anything medical technology related. We are contracted with a number of international medical companies in a qualified technical support role, and will be more than willing to assist with any technical matters within our region of coverage.

Founded in October 2000 by Brett Morrison, PortMed is a technical based medical company. It is our aim to be as flexible as possible and to accommodate all parties by customising specific requirements to suit the needs of each contractor. With many combined years of technical experience, a professional team of experts, dedication, commitment and passion for the medical industry, PortMed has become a frontrunner in the medical and technical industry.

PortMed operates by means of obtaining contracts and subcontracts with numerous medical companies in and around the Eastern, Northern and Western Cape, leaving no stone unturned. All technical requirements related to medical equipment including: installations, servicing, repairing and maintenance of medical equipment is fulfilled by PortMed. Apart from the technical operations, PortMed further imports and distributes specialised medical test equipment.

I am John, I am punctual and caring. I have been with PortMed for 10 years now and going strong. I consider myself as loyal as they come. I am ambitious and driven and I am always looking for new opportunities for PortMed. I enjoy bringing the group together and it’s been said that I should be given the wooden spoon for stirring the pot. I am happy, very approachable and always available to help where I can.

I am Shaun, I am as tall as a ladder, so it’s always good to have me around. I am always happy and hold a constant smile, bringing a contagiously and enthusiastic energy wherever I go. I am always eager to learn, listen, absorb and follow through. I am lovable and caring and look forward to helping you.

Technical Coordinator and Stock Controller

I am Tertia, the Stock Controller at PortMed. I am friendly and very understanding when/if any issues occur. I like to set goals for myself every day, in both my work and personal life. I love working in the medical industry and look forward to learning something new every day. Teamwork is so important to me and in every aspect of life. With a soft, kind, humble and nurturing personality, and as one of the only ladies in the office, I would say I am the rose amongst the thorns.

I am Henry, I am the older one in the office. I have a very calm temperament and work diligently to get any task executed to the highest standard. I approach work each day by the saying “The early bird catches the worm”. I really love what I do, and with years of experience under my belt, I would say I do pretty good job at it. I love working at PortMed and am loyal to the core.

Brett Morrison

Owner, Managing & Technical Director

I am Brett, and I am the proud founder and co-owner of PortMed Medical. Operating for 20 years now and going strong, PortMed was started way back in 2000 as a specialised Technical support company. I am fortunate to enough to say that I have many years of experience in this industry and can honestly admit that there isn’t a day that goes by that I do not wake up excited for the day ahead – I absolutely love what I do. I am actively involved in all facets of PortMed and work hard to instil pride and commitment in our wonderful PortMed staff, in all they do. I believe we have a strong and dedicated team that is willing to go above and beyond to deliver stellar results.

Nanetta Morrison

Co-Owner, Finance & Admin Manager

I am Nanetta, and I am the co-owner of PortMed Medical. Having studied and practised nursing for many years, the medical industry is in my blood. Presently, my role at PortMed includes managing the accounts, admin and health and safety departments/functions. I am by nature an extremely caring, passionate, protective and hard working person, only wanting to please those around me. Apart from my family (which is my biggest source of happiness), I love cooking, reading and going on long motorbike rides along beautiful coastal roads and windy mountain tops.

Stuart du Piesanie

Branch Manager – East London

I am Stuart du Piesanie, and I am based in East London and act as the Branch Manager for the region. I am a resilient, steadfast and diligent individual who works extremely hard and I love a good challenge! I am a father to two young children, and this task has really taught me to handle every situation head-on. I would most certainly say I am a problem solver and forward thinker, and having been with PortMed for 13 years + now. I like to think I am an asset to the company as I really enjoy the work and the people I connect with.
